You will be happy to hear that our all-my-friends-went-to-Italy-and-all-I-got-was-this-lousy-t-shirt days our over.
We are going with Julie Richey on her Mosaic Masterpieces tour this June — and you’re invited. This expedition has all the indications of being something absolutely fabulous.
You may ask, What makes you think so?
Well . . .
Start with the fact that Julie has a degree in Art History, spent a year in Florence in college, is the Orsoni Award winner for 2009, speaks fluent Italian and has developed personal relationships with mosaic masters, museum docents, and restaurateurs from Venice to Rome.

Throw in the Orsoni Foundry, Ravenna, Luciana Notturni, Niki de Saint Phalle, the director of the Vatican Micromosaics studio and a bunch of behind-the-scenes access to sites that most people only see the face of in Florence, Ravenna, Siena, the Tuscan Coast and Rome.
Mix with ACIS, a leader in educational travel, that has arranged for air fare from Dallas, native Italian guides, 3-4 star accommodations, a comfy air-conditioned coach for land travel, entrance fees to tour sites, transfers, and airport fees.
Ecco! Our own private Mosaic Masterpiece!
